At the core of any 3D CAD system are two components: a Geometry Kernel that calculates actual geometry — determining exactly where two surfaces intersect — and a constraint solver that figures out how the remaining lines should move when you drag one.


Most CAD software on the market licenses someone else's Kernel (Parasolid or ACIS), but CrownCAD developed both components in-houseDGM (Dimensional Geometric Modeler) as the Modeling Engine and DCS (Diamond Constraint Solver) as the Constraint Solver.
